Australian Reporting

You can read the previous State of the Environment Report (2021) here.

It combined scientific, traditional and local knowledge to provide a rigorous, peer‑reviewed assessment of every aspect of the environment across 12 themes: Air Quality, Antarctica, Biodiversity, Climate, Coasts, Extreme Events, Heritage, Indigenous, Inland Water, Land, Marine, and Urban.

You can find additional support material for the SoE 2021 Report available on the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water webpage.

State and Territory Reporting

Many Australian states and territories also prepare regular State of the Environment reports for their jurisdiction.

We work with the states and territories across a number of SoE deliverables and methodologies, for example improving the linkage of outcome-based indicators to make it easier to see what is going on across the nation and at regional levels.
