It combined scientific, traditional and local knowledge to provide a rigorous, peer‑reviewed assessment of every aspect of the environment across 12 themes: Air Quality, Antarctica, Biodiversity, Climate, Coasts, Extreme Events, Heritage, Indigenous, Inland Water, Land, Marine, and Urban.

State and Territory Reporting

Many Australian states and territories also prepare regular State of the Environment reports for their jurisdiction.

We work with the states and territories across a number of SoE deliverables and methodologies, including improving the alignment of outcome-based indicators to provide clearer national and regional level insights.
